Spring Ahead: Don’t Forget to Register for Spring 2026 ACT® & SAT® Dates

Spring gets busy fast. Between school, extracurriculars, college planning, and test prep, many students already have a lot competing for their time.

This is not the point in the year to leave potential test dates up in the air. If you have clients who are ready to test this spring, mark your calendars with these upcoming ACT® or SAT® dates.

Spring 2026 ACT® Dates

For the 2026 national schedule, ACT notes that its deadlines occur at midnight Central Time.

Spring 2026 SAT® Dates

College Board notes that SAT® deadlines expire at 11:59 p.m. ET, and the “late registration” date is the same deadline used for changes and regular cancellation.

Why You Should Be Encouraging Registration Now

That is why getting registered matters. It does more than secure a seat for a preferred date at a preferred testing center; it puts a real date on the calendar, gives the student a fixed target, and removes one major loose end from an already crowded season. Once a test date is actually on the books, it becomes much easier to build a realistic prep timeline leading up to that date.

What You Should Be Doing Now

First, identify which spring test date actually makes sense for your student. The right date should be a strategic choice. Students need enough time to plan, prep, test, and possibly retest if needed. That means looking at more than just the next available test date. It means choosing a date that works with the client’s workload, school commitments, and overall readiness.

Second, help your students protect prep time from the usual spring chaos. Spring test prep usually falls apart, not because a student doesn’t care, but because too many important things are going on all at once. We can help by narrowing the focus, setting a workable weekly plan, and adjusting quickly if/when conflicts show up.

Third, do not treat spring as too late. Spring is still a strong testing window for ready students, and a strong retest window for students who need another shot at a target score. Even for students who are not quite ready yet, spring break or any lighter stretch in the calendar can still be used productively for a diagnostic test, a practice test, or an adjustment in the test-prep plan.

What Your Students Need From You Right Now

Students need direction.

They need help deciding whether the May or June SAT® makes more sense for their timeline. They need help figuring out whether April or June is the better ACT® option. They need someone who can look at a packed spring calendar and say, “Here’s what we need to do now.”

That is part of the value tutors bring this time of year. Not just content review. Not just strategy. Clarity.

Spring tends to feel rushed for students when they’re faced with too many decisions and too many deadlines. Choosing a date, registering, and securing that seat makes the rest of the prep work much easier to manage.

If you have a client who's ready to test, now is the time to review the official deadlines, match the student to the most realistic date, and encourage them to register before the best-fit testing-center options become more limited.
